OKURU's philosophy has always been to give when we can.
To this end, we are proud supporters of 2 global social enterprises, one of which is Kiva and the other is Novica.
KIVA is an international not for profit, founded in 2005 in San Francisco, with a mission to expand financial access to help underserved communities thrive. OKURU is thrilled to be able to offer loans to KIVA's community, which enable students to pay for tuition, women to start businesses, farmers to invest in equipment and families to afford needed emergency care.
With National Geographic as their major investor, NOVICA started with a dream to create a better world for artisans. Purchases from NOVICA's artisans are powerful. They directly and indirectly provide for education, help with health care, fund basic needs, support children, preserve disappearing arts, and of course, spread happiness around the world. OKURU supports with purchases from NOVICA's artisans and showcases these handmade products in our associate online store Eleganz n Grace - The Style Shoppe.

Novica
For too long, global artisans suffered at the hands of middlemen who built barriers and earned profits off an
inequitable system.
NOVICA took an important stand when they cut out the long chains of middlemen and built a global fair trade infrastructure with offices located near artisans.
